Effective executive function coaching begins with trust, authenticity, and a deep appreciation for each individual's unique identity and experiences. We recognize that every person is shaped by their history, culture, race, gender, sexuality, and the communities to which they belong. These factors influence not only their perceptions and mindset but also how they navigate the world and are perceived by others.
We understand that executive functioning is interconnected with all other biological and mental functions that keep us safe, nourished, and alert. Enhancing these skills requires more than personal determination for particularly BIPOC, women and femmes, LGBTQ+, culturally and religiously-oppressed, disabled and financially disadvantaged individuals, families and communities; it involves acknowledgment of the pervasive impacts of systemic oppression and privilege. It also involves us finding our communal voice against violent systems of oppression and privilege that inflict perpetual harm.
Hence, at B-Empowered EFC, our mission is to empower individuals by embracing the full spectrum of their identities and experiences.
We are committed to advocating for systems change that promote equitable access to healthcare, education, employment, housing, food security, cultural expression, and disability accommodations for all.
80% of our clients identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and/or low-income and we are deeply grateful they choose us to support them on their executive function journey.
Indigenous peoples from all geographic regions who continue to fight against colonial destabilization, imperialist regimes, and genocide in their homelands, including but not limited to Native American Indigenous groups, Palestine, Sudan, the Congo, Tigray, and Myanmar. We stand in solidarity with individuals and communities who protest, boycott, speak out, and resist racism, ethnocentrism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, Zionism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, ableism, ageism, and classism.
All forms of prejudice based on skin color, culture, religion, disability status, gender, sexuality, gender expression, housing status, and income. B-Empowered EFC is a safe space where individuals from all walks of life are welcomed and accepted. We stand firmly against hate speech, slurs, and any affiliation with or promotion of hate organizations that perpetuate prejudice, violence, oppression, or the denial of humanity toward individuals or groups based on their racial, ethnic, gender, sexual, or cultural identity.
In our Education Hub, we will continually add resources on the connection between executive functioning and race, gender, sexuality, disability status and stigma, and more. Click the link below to learn more and subscribe to B-Empowered EFC.
