As coaching requires vulnerability and openness to the process, clients may feel wary or anxious due to the stigmas about seeking extra support. They may be exposed to messages that invoke a sense of "failure" or "rejection" about their achievement or overall self-image. These ideas are harmful, ableist and woefully inaccurate and it is important that not we not only recognize the stigmas faced by individuals experiencing executive functioning challenges but that coaching clients are given the opportunity to consent (even if wary) to the coaching process. It is possible to illicit feelings of shame when clients feel like they are "required" to receive coaching as opposed to believing for themselves that coaching would be useful.
Hence, is important that coaching clients feel supported by teachers, parents, and/or staff when framing the idea of coaching just as important as it is for clients to feel supported during the coaching process, itself. Executive function skills are skills that everyone has and can/will improve throughout their lifetime. It is powerful to seek resources such as coaching to enhance your life outcomes--never a weakness.
Overall, executive function coaching is a major piece to the health, wellness and education puzzle but the puzzle is not complete without the desire, patience, and space to grow.
Are you ready for growth?
Starting your Executive Function (EF) Coaching journey begins with a foundational session known as the 'Coaching Intake.'
During this personalized intake, you and your coach dive into key aspects of the client’s background—exploring their learning or career history, personal interests, strengths, and self-assessment of executive functioning skills. This conversation helps us tailor a coaching approach that truly aligns with the client’s unique needs and goals.Following the intake, we set up your first 30- or 60-minute remote or in-person coaching session to kickstart the journey of meaningful growth and skill-building, moving from awareness to action with a greater sense of clarity and purpose.
In practice, building EF skills with your EF coach might look like:
Each client is unique, so sessions adapt to meet individual needs, ensuring that you gain strategies and insights that make a meaningful impact on your personal and academic/professional life.

Typically, clients see habit-change and noticeable progress towards coaching goals around 3 months of coaching. The average time spent with coaching is typically around 6-months to about a year. Other clients opt for 3-months of coaching (such as over summer break) while others stick with coaching on a long-term basis, meeting with the EF coach bi-weekly or monthly for check-ins/refreshers/accountability. In summary, you can stay in coaching for however long it works for you!
We do not accept insurance. However, you may qualify to pay for coaching services using HSA or FSA. Schedule an initial consultation to learn more!
